From Podcast to Dream Burrow: What Listeners Can Expect

By Jason A. Wilkinson

I’m working on something new for people who enjoy my sleep stories: Dream Burrow Sleep Stories, my first iOS app.

It’s still in development. What I’m sharing here is the direction I’m building toward, rather than a list of features you can download today. The idea is to give the stories a home of their own, with peaceful scenery and a more direct journey into the audio.

If you already listen to Adult Sleep Stories on Spotify, you’ll still be able to do that. Dream Burrow grows out of the podcast, and I want the work going into it to bring better stories to both places.

A quieter way into the story

The experience I’m planning for Dream Burrow is closer to choosing an audiobook and stepping straight into its world. You would open the app, find a story, and begin the journey without a podcast-host introduction first.

Peaceful scenery is part of that vision. I want the app’s surroundings and the audio to feel as though they belong together, so the experience starts before the first line of the story.

The story itself will still be the reason to listen. A lovely screen can set the mood, but the writing and the way a story unfolds have to carry it from there. That’s where much of my attention is going as I develop the app.

Narration, characters, and worlds to return to

I’m planning stories with a narrator and distinct character voices. That gives me room to develop the characters alongside the narration and work toward a fuller audiobook-style experience.

I also want to build rotating series. A series gives me time to develop a place and its characters over several stories, while rotating between series brings something fresh into the mix. You could return to a world you know or try a different journey when you feel like a change.

The aim is a growing collection with enough variety to stay interesting and enough consistency to feel familiar when you come back.

Fresh stories, with quality at the center

My goal is fresh content daily, across the app and the podcast as the project develops. That’s a goal I’m working toward, not a confirmed daily release schedule for launch.

It goes alongside another goal: improving the quality of the stories and the scale of the production. I want to create new work with more room for characters, narration, and the journey itself. The app is part of how I’m thinking about that next stage.

For listeners, I want the result to be straightforward: more stories worth choosing, and more reasons to return to the worlds you enjoy. Getting the production right matters just as much as adding another title to the collection.

Free listeners are part of the plan

Dream Burrow is being planned with free and member stories. Both will receive the same care and attention to quality. I don’t want free listeners to feel forgotten as the project grows.

Access may differ, and some stories may become available to free listeners later. I’m still working through those details. The distinction I want to make clear now is that a story being free won’t be a reason to put less effort into making it.

The existing catalog is intended to be shared across the podcast and the app. App membership and podcast subscriptions will be separate, so one subscription should not be assumed to unlock both.

Your questions, answered

Is Dream Burrow available yet?

No. Dream Burrow Sleep Stories is still in development for iOS.

Will the podcast continue on Spotify?

Yes. I plan to keep publishing on Spotify, with new story production supporting both the podcast and the app. You can keep listening where you already are.

Will there be a new story every day at launch?

That’s the goal I’m working toward, rather than a confirmed launch schedule.

Will free stories be lower quality?

No. My intention is to give free and member stories equal care. Availability and timing may differ, but the quality of the work matters for both.

Listen while I build

For now, you can explore Adult Sleep Stories on the podcast page or listen on Spotify.

Dream Burrow is the next step I’m working on: a dedicated place to choose a story, settle into its world, and enjoy the journey.
